How To Use Your Home Sleep Test
What To Expect
To determine if you have a sleep disorder, we will first conduct a diagnostic sleep study. You’ll sleep in a private, comfortable room while we evaluate breathing, eye movement, brain waves, blood oxygen levels, muscle activity, and heart rate and rhythm.
The registered sleep technologist reviews the data as you sleep to curate a complete sleep report ready for interpretation. This helps us get you a diagnosis and treatment plan as quickly as possible so we can get you a good night’s sleep.

When can I test?
Sleep diagnostic testing is available at the Center for Sleep six nights a week, Sunday through Friday. Sleep testing is also performed during the day, Monday through Friday. Testing will generally coincide with your normal sleep hours.
Types of Sleep Studies
Home Sleep Test
Our Home Sleep Test is a sleep study tool that is used for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea. The tests are portable – about the size of a telephone handset – and can be completed from the comfort of your own home!
Polysomnography
Polysomnography records your brain waves, the oxygen level in your blood, heart rate and breathing, as well as eye and leg movements during the study.
Multiple Sleep Latency Test
The Multiple Sleep Latency Test is used to measure the time elapsed from the start of a daytime nap period to the first signs of sleep, called sleep latency. The test is based on the idea that the sleepier people are, the faster they will fall asleep.
Maintenance of Wakefulness Test
The Maintenance of Wakefulness Test is a daytime sleep study that measures your ability to stay awake and alert during the day. It is usually done the day after a polysomnogram and takes most of the day.
